The Most Over-The-Top Rooms In Celebrity Houses

Lady Gaga’s Bowling Alley

With more money then they know what to do with, some celebrities decide to splash their cash on their lavish homes, creating rooms which you would have to see to believe. While most of her $24 million mansion holds a European feel, she couldn’t resist adding a bit of American retro charm. Aside from her bocce ball court, wine cellar, stables, and saltwater pool, if Gaga has the urge to bowl, she doesn’t need to go far.

Kylie Jenner’s Closet

This 21-year-old has not only had one but three homes in her life and her most recent is well over 13,200-square-foot. Based in the Hidden Hills, the house has eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and a spa room. But the most impressive feature of the house is her custom closet which holds her designer handbags – ONLY! The obsessive-compulsive space has six floor-to-ceiling shelves just to hold the model’s prized collection of Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Gucci. Lucky girl!

Drake’s YOLO Estate Pool

Drake’s YOLO estate holds his party property which he obtained from Saddle Ranch owner Larry Pollack for $7.7 million. He found the place after searching online for the “world’s craziest residential pools.” He has a giraffe statue, mechanical bull, half-dozen unused stables, Olympic-size pool, 80-foot water slide, and a “secret” entrance to his bedroom. After his “YOLO Estate” sign was stolen three times and it was becoming costly to replace, he put a street number sign there instead. You only live once, Drake!

Christina Aguilera’s Game Room

Her Mediterranean-style home in Beverly Hills features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a salon, a movie room, and even a gift-wrapping room (because we all need lots of space when wrapping gifts!). Christina Aguilera could not forget to include a games room with many pinball machines. She bought the house, which once belonged to the Osbourne family, for $11.5 million but tried to sell it after her divorce from Jordan Bratman. The singer eventually sold the house for $13.5 million after it was on the market for two years.

Bill Gates’ Trampoline Room

So what does being the richest man in the world buy you? Apparently, a trampoline room! The Microsoft co-founder revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that he has a room dedicated to trampolines in his house. “We have a trampoline room in our house, the kids like that,” he said. “Indoor trampolines, I recommend it. […] It’s a room with a very high ceiling.” We very much doubt that this is the only exciting room on the estate that cost $63 million and took seven years to build.

Celine Dion’s Waterpark

Celine Dion’s backyard is anything but ordinary. In addition to three pools, the singer installed her very own 500,000-gallon outdoor water park on her Jupiter Island, Florida estate, complete with water slides, water cannons, and a lazy river. While it seems extravagant, she is definitely saving a lot of dollars on trips to Sea World or Typhoon Lagoon. Sadly, Dion gave away her water-surrounded house shortly after her husband René Angélil passed away.

Iggy Azalea’s Basketball Court

When your boyfriend is an NBA superstar, it makes sense that your house must be fully equipped with a full-sized basketball court. The six bedroom, nine bathroom San Fernando Valley home includes a figure-8 shaped pool and spa. After playing some basketball on their fully lit court, Iggy and fiancé Nick Young would chill by their gazebo, grilling station, and fire pit on those cool California nights. Iggy decided to sell the house she bought off Selena Gomez after the pair split in 2016.

Miley Cyrus’ Backyard

There is no surprise that Miley’s backyard is fully equipped for a party. Cyrus has an outdoor seating area set against a green wall with a mini Hollywood sign on it. Her outdoor pool is watched over by a life-size white statue of a horse. On the other side, her lawn is also home to an oversized 20-foot teepee from Nomadics Tipi Makers, which reportedly cost $25,000. Miley’s fabulous house is just as impressive inside as outside and even contains a $10,000 toilet.

Chad Ochocinco’s Aquarium Bedroom

Athletes love to go overboard with crazy ideas for their homes, and this one is certainly up there. Chad Ochocinco does not have any ordinary headboard, but he sleeps with a full-size aquarium over his head filled with fish and other sea creatures. But Chad didn’t stop there. He must have a thing for the “under the sea” theme, as he has another huge fish tank in his living room behind his three television screens.

Neil Patrick Harris’ Magic Man Cave

The How I Met Your Mother star has a secret room in his house and has revealed what’s inside to Jimmy Fallon. He first purchased his New York townhouse for $4 million and took on furnishing the place. The house has a home theater, pool, and outdoor shower – and even a backyard pizza oven. But most importantly, he decided to get a bright red, magic trick-filled room where he can practice his passion.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Eco-Friendly Bathroom

As well as having his own eco-friendly island, DiCaprio purchased a $10 million NYC apartment in May 2014 which comes fully equipped with probably the strangest amenities of all of the city. Inside, there is a vitamin C-infused shower, Circadian lighting system, posture-supportive heat reflexology floors, and pumped in aromatherapy. Perhaps money can’t buy you happiness but it can definitely provide you with some healthy vitamins. The residence calls itself the first “Wellness Real Estate residence in the world.”

Kendell Jenner’s Playground

Here is yet another Jenner who has bought a house worth $8.55 million even before the age of 25. Her home in Beverly Hills once belonged to actor Charlie Sheen. It is complete with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a spa, pool, movie theatre, and tennis court. But the most exciting feature of all is the playground. Despite not having kids, part of her backyard is a fully equipped playground with swings, slides, and more.

Jay Leno’s Airplane Hangar

With an enormous collection of over 130 cars and 93 motorcycles (and counting), it is no wonder he needs a large space to store his hobby. Aside from the gleaming McLarens, Lamborghinis, and Bugattis, there are plenty of sections for American and British cars, making his hangar larger than a car showroom. Posters and pictures of classic cars line the walls from floor to ceiling, and spare parts, memorabilia, and engines fill the remainder of the space.

Jennifer Lopez’s Putting Green

While most people are tight for space in Manhattan, J-Lo has tried to make the most of her 3,000 square feet of outdoor space. Her $22 million NoMad penthouse comes complete with a putting green on the roof deck. Who would have thought Jenny from the block likes to hit some balls in her spare time? Her keyed elevator opens onto a 45×29-foot great room with an overhead skylight and three sets of french doors that open onto a shallow terrace.

Nick Young’s Shoe House

When Nick Young and Iggy Azalea purchased their $3.45 million mansion, it was not the property’s six bedrooms, barbecue pit, spa, or even basketball court that amazed everyone. Nick Young took his love of shoes to a new level and decided to convert the guesthouse into a “shoe house.” It gets better – he employs not one but two “shoe keepers,” who oversee his 500 or so pairs of sneakers, a collection that includes Vans fitted with roller-skating wheels.

Kim And Kanye’s Vineyard

When Kim Kardashian and Kanye purchased their $20 million dream home, they decided to renovate the vineyard next to it so that they can make their own wine at home. Kanye even joked about having “Yeezus Wine!” and a source revealed they are taking the vineyard seriously, “They consulted experts to get it operable.” Their gorgeous eight-bedroom home was previously owned by Lisa Marie Presley and contains two pools, two spas, and two barbecue areas.

Kenny Rogers’ Roman Spa

This singer proved his success with his 22-room Atlanta mansion which is valued at $5.2 million. The home includes six bedrooms, twelve baths, Palladian windows, an elevator, 10 fireplaces, and a home theater. But the most interesting and beautiful of all rooms is his Roman spa. The spa is decorated with wraparound murals, huge clamshells, and a statue of David. When he isn’t indulging in his spa treatment, Rogers can be seen downing cocktails in his pool with swim-up bar.

Diddy’s Underwater Tunnel

When record producer, part-time-actor, and Sean Jean clothing line founder Diddy put down a hefty $39 million on a brand new, 17,000 square foot mansion in Holmby Hills, we did not expect what crazy ideas he would have for his home. It includes a 35-seat theater, a wine room, as well as a “steam room, massage room and beauty salon” in a separate structure on-site. But the most exciting feature is an underwater tunnel connecting the pool and grotto!

Ralph Lauren’s Screening Room

Ralph Lauren is one of the biggest fashion icons in the world, so it is no surprise that he owns an amazing Double RL Ranch in Colorado. Not only does the ranch’s size in acres exceed that of Manhattan, but it also comes with many fascinating amenities. There is a main lodge, several cabins, and hand-painted canvas tepees. But best of all, when Ralph isn’t thinking up the latest designs, he can sit back and watch a movie in this stunning screening room.

Ron Howard’s Observatory

Ron’s lakefront Armonk, NY home comes with a domed observatory with a professional-grade telescope. The director explained, “Whether we’re watching films in our theatre, walking the trails throughout our property, star gazing in our observatory, or just relaxing with friends and loved ones by the lake, Cheryl and I feel we’ve accomplished the goals we set when we began work on this place.” When he is tired of star gazing, Howards makes use of his “sports barn” with a full-sized tennis court inside.

Diane Keaton’s Kitchen

Diane Keaton’s new house is stunning and it is all thanks to Pinterest. Diane recently offered the public a chance to view her 8,000 square foot LA farmhouse which she built from the ground up and designed. The beautiful home is otherwise known as The House That Pinterest Built (the title of Keaton’s book) and is full of Pinterest-worthy ideas. Her kitchen, in particular, blew people away. She chose a blue-gray for the cabinets and island and combined metals and woods for a rustic feel.

Mariah Carey’s Closet

While a closet may not usually be a room, Mariah Carey’s is bigger than some people’s homes. The singer’s “closet” includes tufted silk sofas and strategically placed sconces, an entire closet devoted to her designer shoes, and another specifically just for lingerie. She then has an equally impressive room for her handbags. Despite all her clothes, she says, “I guess I dress up a lot, but if I had my way, I’ll just wear lingerie and walk around the house.”

Mary-Kate Olsen And Olivier Sarkozy’s Hall Of Mirrors

Mary-Kate and Olivier must be the only people in Manhattan to manage to have a 743-square-meter home. Their Turtle Bay Garden home has five bedrooms and enough space for the couple, her fashion empire, and then some more. The beautifully elegant house is surrounded by a garden promenade, has a private elevator, and even a rooftop pool. Yet, nothing beats this hall of mirrors. Great taste or vanity?

Markus Persson’s Candy Room

It was reported that Beyoncé and Jay Z had their eyes set on this $85 million mansion in Beverley Hills which featured a sweet room – a candy room, making Blue Ivy the envy of all her friends. However, after visiting the home over five times, the couple lost out to Minecraft game developer, Markus “Notch” Persson who purchased the house for $15 million below the asking price. Before Jay and Bey had the chance to haggle, Persson tweeted a photo of himself enjoying his new room.

Ellen Rekieten’s Basketball Room

TV producer Ellen Rekieten knows just how to make her kids happy. After her two sons asked her,  “Mom, instead of a guest room, can we have a basketball court?” she followed through and created an exciting room built just for the sport. Ellen added a feminine touch to her home which is elegant and white. In one room she also has a cork wall where almost anything could be pinned to it.
